The Next Generation Zone's 21st Century Skills Academy provides fundamental skills training structured around regional in-demand industries. Young adults explore their career interests and goals while gaining foundational skills for employment and career progression. In these classes, groups of students:
- Create résumés
- Practice interviewing skills
- Meet employers and local business leaders
- Learn what skills help them get and keep jobs
- Learn about budgeting
- Hear from college staff about the admission and financial aid processes

Students leave the course with two industry recognized credentials:
Job Corps is the nation's largest career technical training and education program for eligible young people ages 16 through 24.
Students can earn a high school diploma, a high school equivalency credential, or college credits through Job Corps. We offer career technical training in more than 100 career areas. Students receive housing, meals, basic health care, a living allowance, training, and preparation for a career, all at no cost.

YouthBuild Spokane is for young adults ages 18-24 who want to earn their GED or High School Diploma and learn valuable career skills. Students select between construction, advanced manufacturing, or healthcare tracks. Training includes industry recognized certification and hands-on work experience, and students receive a monthly stipend as well as wrap around staff support. Our goal is for every YouthBuild student to leave the program with a job or enrolled in postsecondary employment.
