Walking in to the Next Generation Zone I felt tired and hopeless, and willing to accept any job position. I had applied for fast food, waitress positions, and sales associates, everything you could think of. Previously I had two stable jobs for over a year. When I moved to Spokane from a small town, I thought my employment opportunities would be much greater, but after 47 days of walking in to every company in sight and filling out applications I was at a loss. My boyfriend was enrolled in the Hydraulic and Pneumatic Technician program at Spokane Community College and I was determined to support us so he could better our future.
I walked in to the Next Generation Zone with the hopes that someone could look at my résumé and help me tweak a few things, to increase my chances of getting hired. I had no appointment when I went in on a Thursday afternoon, and I was introduced to Robin. She was so extremely eager to help me find a job, and quickly learned I would prefer to work in an office setting. Within in minutes she had spoken to the vice president of Trans-System Inc. and had me scheduled for an interview the next morning. After the interview, I walked out with an amazing job opportunity, and one-year later I am still employed! I work in Human Resources, and work 40+ hours a week, with a steady income providing for my family!
I have all the confidence in the world that the Next Generation Zone team can assist anyone when it comes to bettering their future. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Robin or the Next Generation Zone.
