21st Century Skills Academy

Next Generation Zone’s 21st Century Skills Academy delivers essential training for employment readiness. Young adults are coached on how to get, keep, and excel at a new job from any of the regional in-demand industries. Students in these classes:

  • Create résumés 
  • Practice interviewing skills
  • Explore career interests and goals
  • Develop good work place habits
  • Engage with employers from local businesses
  • Learn about budgeting
  • Learn about college admission and financial aid processes

Students have the opportunity to take part in nationally recognized assessments of Digital Literacy and Career Exploration through:




YouthBuild Spokane is for young adults ages 18-24 who want to earn their GED or High School Diploma and learn valuable career skills. Students select between construction, advanced manufacturing, or healthcare tracks. Training includes industry recognized certification and hands-on work experience, and students receive a monthly stipend as well as wrap around staff support. Our goal is for every YouthBuild student to leave the program with a job or enrolled in postsecondary employment.

Job Corps
